Karin Weber
Research Assistant at Institute of Landscape Planning, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences
Karin Weber is a research assistant at the Institute of Landscape Planning at BOKU University since 2016. She is currently involved in a mentoring project for women in the Austrian forestry and timber industry, which encourages experts to share their knowledge with young students. Since the foundation of the we4DRR network in 2016, Karin has supported the Organisation Team with the recruitment of new members (through surveys and outreach) as well as the implementation of member activities, such as webinars.
Karin Weber studied landscape planning at BOKU University. During her time at BOKU, she supported various research projects on risk management and flooding from a gender- and target group-specific perspective. In this context, she also wrote her PhD thesis on “Social Contracts and Target-Group-Oriented Approaches in Austrian Flood Risk Management.”
In the context of networking, Karin often says that she enjoys bringing people together and creating spaces for communication.
