3 days, 150 participants
During the three days of conference 150 participants from all over the world, among them representatives of the UN, scientists from different disciplines, practitioners and policymakers, exchanged ideas in panel discussions and interactive working groups. The central focus of the was on the enormous challenges facing mountainous regions in the coming decades against the background of global population growth along with increasing scarcity of natural resources, and climate change.
Lydia Pedoth participated in the working group on Mountain Disaster Management and gave a short presentation on the role of women in DRR as input for the discussion. The conference also organized an exhibition with different information stands to give organisations, companies and projects acting in the field the opportunity to present themselves to the conference participants. One of these stands was dedicated to the network we4DRR and attracted various participants from all over the world.
